What to check:

New-style solar controller

1. Unplug both Deutsch connectors.
2. Wait one minute.
3. Plug in the larger battery connector first.
4. Allow the controller to boot (about one minute).
5. Plug in the solar panel connector.
6. Confirm there is a “0” in the green display box. If not, press MODE until “0” appears.
7. Check that:
   • The Sun LED is on
   • The Battery LED is on

The battery should now be charging.

Old-style solar controller

• Check for a green light indicating power from the solar panels.
• If there is no green light on a sunny day, the controller is faulty and will need replacing or upgrading to the new-style controller.

If the green light is on, the battery itself is likely faulty and will need replacing.

What to check:

1. Inspect all fuses and replace any that are blown.
2. If it still won’t retract:
   • Locate the limit switch at the lower front right of the machine.
   • Unscrew the switch and disconnect the two wires.
   • Temporarily short the two wires together.
     • If the reel retracts, the limit switch is faulty and needs replacing.
     • If it does not retract:
       • Check whether the motor is receiving power.
         • If it is, the motor is faulty.

If it isn’t, the speed controller is faulty.

Fuses are installed to protect the wiring and motor. Increasing the fuse size can cause:

• Motor damage
• Wiring damage
• Serious fire risk

Common causes include seed type, size, or moisture content causing the roller to jam.
Corrective action:

• Empty and clean the hopper.
• Reassemble correctly.
• Refill only to half capacity to reduce pressure on the roller.
