Weather Update

The Bureau of Meteorology has released its 2024 Spring Long-Range Forecast, providing valuable insights to help you plan your farming activities effectively for the upcoming season (September to November).

This spring, warmer-than-average temperatures are more likely across all states and territories.

State and Territory Forecasts:

  • New South Wales & ACT: Warmer than usual spring temperatures expected, especially in the eastern regions around Sydney. Above-average rainfall likely in the northern and central areas.
  • Victoria: Warmer spring temperatures anticipated. Most areas will see typical rainfall, though the southwest might experience slightly more precipitation.
  • Queensland: Warmer spring temperatures with hotter days and nights. Above-average rainfall expected, particularly in southern and central regions. Northern Australia’s wet season starts in October, with early significant rains likely.
  • Western Australia: Warmer spring temperatures, especially in the north. Perth and the south will have average daytime temperatures. Rainfall will be typical in southwest WA, but below average in the mid-west and central inland.
  • South Australia: Expect warmer spring temperatures. Slightly increased chance of above-average rainfall in Adelaide, southern agricultural areas, and northern regions.
  • Tasmania: Warmer spring temperatures with unusually warm days and nights. Above-average rainfall likely in eastern Tasmania.
  • Northern Territory: Warmer spring temperatures expected. Typical rainfall in most areas with significant rains likely in parts of the Top End as the wet season begins in October.
